AFCON 2027 and Miss World 2027: How Tanzanian Hosts Can Prepare
Published 2026-10-17 · 2 min · Boma
Tanzania is set to host two international events in 2027: the Africa Cup of Nations (19 June to 17 July 2027, shared with Kenya and Uganda) and the 74th Miss World, which the organisers announced for Tanzania in 2027. Both are expected to bring visitors from abroad, and many will look for a home rather than a hotel room.
Dates and venues for both events can change, and not every detail is confirmed yet. Follow official announcements and plan with some flexibility.
Start now
1. Open your calendar early. Guests plan months ahead for events. If your dates are blocked or not set, nobody can book. Update your calendar and review which dates you can offer.
2. Set your prices on purpose. Demand around an event is usually higher than normal. Look at similar homes near you, then decide whether to raise your rate for specific dates. Boma lets you set prices for particular days, so you can keep your normal rate the rest of the year.
3. Think about minimum nights. A short minimum stay is easier to fill, but a longer one saves you turnover work. Choose what suits you.
4. Photos and description. Bright, honest photos of every room and the outside, plus the true distance to the nearest stadium or venue if you know it, will win bookings.
5. Be clear about the basics. Guests ask about backup power, water, internet, air conditioning or fans, parking and security. Put the answers in your description.
Make guests comfortable
- Check-in. Explain the way in and who meets the guest. Many arrivals will be late at night.
- Local tips. A short note on safe transport, nearby shops and places to eat saves questions.
- Cleaning. Plan turnover time between bookings.
- House rules. State rules on noise, guests and smoking clearly, especially if neighbours live close by.
- Reply quickly. Fast answers are one of the biggest factors in winning a booking.
Cancellation and safety
Choose the cancellation policy that matches your risk. Remember that your guests must follow the usual rules for entering Tanzania, including the mandatory travel insurance for foreign visitors.
